Instant Pot Dawali

Yields1 Serving
Filling:
 4 cups Egyptian or Calrose rice Washed four times and soaked for 30-45 mins and then drained
 1 lb Ground beef
 1 Small onion Grated
  cup EVOO
Seasoning:
 2 tbsp Chicken bouillon powder
 1 tbsp Seasoned Salt
 1 tsp Black pepper powder
 ½ tsp Ziyad Brand Cinnamon Powder
 1 tsp Dried crushed mintOptional
 1 Jar of Ziyad Brand Grape Leaves
 1 Tomato
 ¼ cup Olive oil
 2 lbs Lamb chops Optional
If lamb is added:
 1 tbsp Vinegar
 ½ tsp Black pepper
 ½ tsp Salt
 4 tbsp Olive oil

Before you start anything, wash and soak the rice for at least 45 minutes and drain before making the filling. Add all ingredients for the filling into a large bowl and you're ready to roll.

If adding lamb chops, season and set aside to marinate while rolling.

Rinse the grape leaves from the brine in warm water and squeeze before using. When you're ready to roll on a large cutting board, lay each leaf vein side up facing you. Put about 3/4 a tsp of filling in the leaf. Fold up the bottom, fold in both sides and roll. Now have fun rolling. Make yourself a latte it’s going to be a while!

Congratulations you finished rolling! Take the IP liner, slice the tomato and place in the bottom of the pot, then add the lamb chops. Now, you need to neatly place in the rolled grape leaves into the pot and put a little pressure so they can be close together.

Return the liner to the Instant pot. Add enough water to cover all but the last row of the grape leaves. Drizzle the olive oil, and sprinkle salt. Please try the rack that comes with the IP on top of the grape leaves.

Close the IP lid and make sure the vent is closed. Press the meat setting and set the timer to 50 minutes. Once the timer is done, instant release and get a large bowl ready. Drain some of the liquid into the bowl and flip the grape leaves in to a large serving platter.
