INGREDIENTS
Vermicelli Rice is a quintessential Arab side dish that transforms any meal into a feast! This flavorful rice, enriched with toasted vermicelli noodles, is the ideal accompaniment to hearty stews and savory dishes.
Directions
Step 1:
Rinse the rice few times until the water runs clear about 5 times. Drain and set aside.
Step 2:
In a medium pot, heat the ghee, add the vermicelli noodles, and sauté until golden (about 2- 3 minutes on medium heat), stirring constantly so they don’t burn. Add the rice and salt. Stir to coat in the oil for about 2-3 minutes tossing the rice often so it doesn’t stick to the bottom.
Step 3:
Carefully add the boiling water, bring the rice and water to a boil, mix the water in with a wooden spoon, lower the heat to low, cover the pot and let it simmer until rice is cooked through and fluffy. No peaking about 20 minutes or until all the water is absorbed and rice is cooked. Let it sit for 5 minutes, fluff with a fork and serve hot.
Recipe Tip:
It is best to use a nonstick pot.
