Step 1
Rinse the beans in cold water.
Transfer the rinsed, drained beans to a medium saucepan over medium heat, and add 1 and half cups of cold water. Season with 1/2 teaspoon of cumin.
Step 2
Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low and let simmer uncovered for 20 minutes until most of the water is absorbed and the beans have softened.

Step 3
Transfer the beans to a plate mash with a fork. Add lemon juice, garlic, salt and remaining cumin mix to combine.
Step 4
Garnish with more olive oil, chopped parsley and chopped tomatoes. Serve with bread, ziyad brand Shattah, pickles and olives
